RYAN'S
VIDEO
This is a cool video my adorable and talented nephew
created of some of my mountain climbing photos. He
says it isn't done, so that's why I'm posting it here
for now. Click on the "Ryan's Video" link above
and then another. Let it load (grab a cup of
coffee) and start by itself. Otherwise, it will
stop and continue and stop... and drive you nuts.

MOM AND
DAD'S 60TH ANNIVERSARY
This
page
was created for my parents, who recently celebrated
their 60th wedding anniversary. It's for them,
family, friends and the curious people who stumble onto
this links page. There isn't a day that goes by
that we don't thank our lucky stars for Norma and Jim.

SANDY
DELEHANTY
I think my sister-in-law,
Sandy, started painting before she learned how to write. After years of
working up to the point where she could dedicate herself fulltime to her
passion, she is now traveling around the world giving painting lessons and
selling her work so my brother, Burke, could spend more time fishing. Her
beautiful watercolor
and oil paintings can be found on her website.

BANANASAURUS
REX
My niece, Becky, is very creative.
Visiting her website will make you smile. I'll let her tell you about
it: "BananaSaurus
Rex features astonishingly beautiful things
for post-modern bohemian Mamas and
retro-stylish Babies — made of amazing
vintage, recycled and other rescued
materials. Everything here is one-of-a-kind
and handmade by me! I'm Rebecca Thoms
Hanley, a semi-retired graphic designer and
full-time mother of two, trapped in
suburbia. Where do I find the time to sew?
Who knows. Does it keep me sane? Just
barely.

ROOM TO
READ
"World Change Starts with
Educated Children" - In 1999 I met John Wood through mutual friends at the
Thirsty Bear in San Francisco. We had both just returned from Nepal
and could not stop talking about our experiences there. I went on
about mountains and mountain men and John described how he and his father
wanted to help children in countries like Nepal by providing books and
building schools to improve their education. He took on the project
using the same skills that made him a successful marketing executive at
Microsoft. Room to Read has since built schools in Nepal, Cambodia,
India, Laos, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, South Africa and Zambia, and John just
published his
autobiography, Leaving Microsoft to Change the World. Uh...John wins.

DAVE'S
FLY FISHING IN NEW ZEALAND
Dave is a fly fishing guide. He enjoys
talking and studying American politics and didn't hesitate to let me know he
doesn't like George Bush (I'm being gentle and oh, BTW, I am so
shocked, I never hear that when I travel!), the Republicans (although he
admitted one of his favorite clients is a Republican) and Australians (hates
them, but I don't believe him). He's
retired, living off his pension and guiding, and is a black belt in karate
(so if you are a 'W' fan, pretend you're not). He's fished several times in
the US but prefers New Zealand. Dave patiently taught me how to fly fish but
we mostly had fun joking around (he's got a great sense of humor....for a
Kiwi). Check out his photos.

JOHN AND BETSY McKENZIE - NEW
ZEALAND FLY FISHING
John and Betsy own a farm in Oamaru, New
Zealand, that provides access to a little
known stretch of river
with an abundance of rainbow trout. They offer room and
board for fly fishermen.
They don't have a website but I have their phone number.
If you are interested in
contacting them, please send me an email at
megandelehanty@yahoo.com
and I'll put you in touch with them.
